A person was jailed for allegedly attacking a security guard with a metal pipe before being subdued by a tranquilizer.
Officials with the Metro Nashville Police Department said Antonio Devone Winters entered a security office in north Nashville claiming someone was trying to kill him.
He reportedly ran off in a panic prompting the security guard to follow him out of concern.
The affidavit stated that Winters was attempting to break out several car windows with a metal pipe and beating on the door of a residence by Baptist World Center.
The security guard tried to take him into custody but was allegedly attacked with the pipe.
Officers responded to the scene to help apprehend Winters but they said he resisted to the point where staff with the Nashville Fire Department tranquilized him.
At least one woman who witnessed the altercation gave a statement corroborating the incident.
Police found the metal pipe near the scene.
Winters was obviously impaired by an unknown substance that he could not recite his name, the affidavit further stated.
Winters was transported to the hospital for general care and booked into Metro jail Tuesday night.
The 35-year-old suspect was being charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
