Some Good Samaritans possibly saved a man's life during a brutal beating overnight at a Springfield Waffle House.
The incident happened at the restaurant’s location on Memorial Boulevard around 11 p.m. Wednesday.
The crime was described as a "brutal beating" in the parking lot.

Authorities said at least five men attacked another man and beat and kicked him while he was on the ground.
But police have said the victim was not an innocent bystander.
Springfield Police Chief David Thompson said the attack was provoked and that the victim was a willing participant in the parking lot fight. He said the victim admitted to yelling at the group and hitting their car with a milk crate.
Police confirmed that three Good Samaritans inside the restaurant came outside to help and that's when the attackers took off.
The victim was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center for the treatment of his "serious" injuries.
Officials said they don't have any detailed descriptions of the suspects, but said they may have been in two cars: a gray Chevrolet Impala and a Nissan Altima.
No further details were available.
