A man was forced to give up money and his pants during a robbery in east Nashville.

The incident happened early Wednesday morning in a parking lot around 6th Street at Summer Place.

Officials with Metro Nashville Police said a man was walking up to his car when an armed man jumped out from behind a parked car.

The robber demanded the victim’s money and also ordered him to take off his pants.

According to police, the suspect didn't think the man was running fast enough so he fired a shot into the air before he fled from the scene.

Officers arrived on the scene and tried to track down the robber with a K9 unit, but lost the scent around South 5th Street.

The suspect was able to get away with cash and the victim's wallet.

A suspect description was not released, but anyone with information was asked to call Crime Stoppers at 615-74-CRIME.
