A man has been listed in critical condition after his brother-in-law allegedly stabbed him and hit him in the head with a sledgehammer.
Officials said the incident happened Wednesday morning in the 3000 block of Chelsea Way near Percy Priest Lake.
Authorities confirmed the suspect, identified as 33-year-old Olvin Antonio Zuniga-Flores, was on the run, while his brother-in-law, 43-year-old Jesus Armando Alvarez, remained in critical condition at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
A warrant has been released for Zuniga-Flores' arrest on a charge of attempted murder.

Authorities released information saying the suspect allegedly dragged his niece, the victim's 10-year-old daughter, out of her bedroom by her hair and forced her to watch the attack. Due to that action, a warrant has also been released on Zuniga-Flores for assault.
Initial reports stated Alvarez had been sitting inside his home when he was attacked from behind.
Alvarez was slashed several times with a knife and hit in the head with a sledgehammer.
Zuniga-Flores allegedly said he was going to kill Alvarez and his family.
Officials confirmed the 10-year-old was able to flee to safety at a neighbor's home.
Zuniga-Flores fled from the scene in a 2000 model white Chevrolet pickup owned by the victim.
Police said it was one of the "bloodiest" crime scenes they've seen in a long time.
Both the family and the victim have said they do not know the reason behind the attack, which they claimed was unprovoked.
No further details were available.
Anyone with information on Zuniga-Flores' whereabouts has been urged to contact Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463. They confirmed Spanish-speaking operators have been made available.
