Officers with the Gallatin Police Department said they have apprehended a suspect who stole money from a gas station.

The robbery happened around 11:45 p.m. Thursday at the Delta Express Station in the 400 block of South Water Avenue.

The suspect, identified as 30-year-old Thomas Keith Sheffield, allegedly entered the store, questioned if his friend was there, then asked the two clerks if they were the only ones there.

According to reports, Sheffield then grabbed the male clerk and forced him behind the counter with the female clerk. He demanded all the money, but the suspect only got a small amount. When the timed safe wouldn’t open, he fled on foot.

Warrants for Sheffield were obtained for armed robbery.

Authorities confirmed he had been captured. Details surrounding his arrest were not released.
