A man was killed in a late-night hit-and-run collision in Antioch.
The incident was reported around 11:15 p.m. Wednesday on Murfreesboro Pike near Hamilton Church Road.
Officials with Metro Nashville Police said the pedestrian was not in a crosswalk. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Witnesses reported seeing the driver of a sedan, with metallic silver paint, strike the person and then flee without stopping.
A car matching that description was later found abandoned near a church on Mountain View Road. The vehicle has been towed to a crime lab for further analysis.
The victim’s identity was not known. He was described as being a middle aged man.
No additional details were known.
