A man has been arrested after allegedly holding up a Donelson hotel with a rifle.
Officials with the Metro Nashville Police Department said the suspect, later identified as 25-year-old Dibrell Pruitt, got away with a little over $300 at the Alexis Inn off of Elm Hill Pike on Ermac Drive before he also reportedly attempted to rob another hotel at gunpoint.
Authorities said Pruitt pulled up into a parking space by the front entrance, walked up to the clerk, and pulled a rifle out from under his sweatshirt.
The crime happened around 2:30 a.m. Thursday. Pruitt allegedly demanded the clerk take him to the safe, but the clerk didn't know the code.
He took off with the money from the register and headed west on Elm Hill Pike.
Police said the same suspect then reportedly tried to rob a Days Inn off of Spence Lane, but they don't believe he got away with anything there.
Authorities said Pruitt was not wearing gloves, so they were able to find and collect fingerprints.
Pruitt was taken into custody Thursday afternoon at his apartment on Murfreesboro Pike. Officials were alerted by a citizen in Pruitt's complex that he was likely the one who committed the robbery.
Officials said the rifle, money, and a black mask were recovered during Pruitt's arrest. His bond was set at $50,000.
