A suspect search got underway overnight after a man wrapped his face in paper towels prior to robbing a gas station clerk at gunpoint, police said.

The incident happened overnight Wednesday at a Twice Daily on Dickerson Pike.

Officials with Metro Nashville Police said the suspect had a black revolver and threatened the clerk.

The employee told officers that the suspect went to the bathroom and grabbed paper towels to put over his face while he carried out the robbery.

The employee complied and gave him money from the register.

The suspect fled the scene in a white or silver Ford Focus.

Police said they’re checking surveillance from the store. The suspect was described as being a man in his early 20s, around 5-feet 8-inches tall and was wearing a dark hoodie with blue jeans.
