Mayor Megan Barry felt the need for speed, so she got out of the office and onto the racetrack.
The mayor spent part of Friday with the crew from Tony Formosa's Racing experience at the Fairgrounds Speedway Nashville.
They went a few laps around the famous track.
Mayor Barry said she had never been in a racecar before and added it was exciting but a little unnerving.
The mayor urged everyone to head to the speedway Saturday to cheer on the racers.
