Police in Murfreesboro have launched an investigation after a gay couple said they found a derogatory note attached to a package delivered to their home.
According to a police report, the couple found a parcel on their front door with a piece of paper reading “F--- go back to Cali.”
The note was attached with a folding knife that had a photo of President-Elect Donald Trump on the handle.
Investigating officers said the incident "bias-motivated."
There have been similar reports of hate-motivated incidents across the country. Some have proven to be legitimate, while others have not been verified.
Either way, police officials said they’re taking the case seriously. The items were taken and would be analyzed.
Agents with the Federal Bureau of Investigation have also been brought in on the case.
