New Rabies Law Passed For Pets

Posted
and last updated

A new law approved this week will take some pressure off pet owners when it comes to what they have to spend on their furry friend.

Metro Council approved a plan that allows dogs and cats to get a rabies vaccination and license every three years, instead of every year.

The law has been set to go into effect January 1.

Even though the law will change, pet owners will still want to check with their veterinarian.

Vets still have the option to issue vaccinations each year.

Metro Animal Control offers a $10 monthly rabies clinic to help with the cost. For more information, click here.
