Officials with the city of Mt. Juliet have announced they’re going to put in a new sidewalk to make the route to school safer for students in two schools.
According to a released map of the plan, the sidewalk has been proposed to help students that attend Elzie D. Patton Elementary and Mt. Juliet Middle School.
Those who live there have been able to testify to the congested traffic, so a sidewalk to make things safer will be a big help.
The plan has been part of an overall $1.3 million federal and state grant package that will also go toward building part of the Cedar Creek Greenway.
