The incident happened around 1:30 a.m. Saturday on Vivelle Avenue in South Nashville.
The massive tree made a lot of residents unhappy as they were stuck in their neighborhood until it was removed.
Authorities said the tree snapped at least one pole in half and brought down powerlines along the entire block.
Dozens of homes were without power leaving about 100 customers in the dark, according to those with the Nashville Electric Service.
Residents were stuck at the end of a cul-de-sac as powerline crews worked to restore power, and those with Public Works cut up the tree to remove it.
