A Davidson County man has been charged with neglect after allegedly kicking his young son out with nothing but a blanket.
According to an affidavit from Metro Nashville Police, a passing motorist found the 5-year-old child walking alone along Castlegate Drive. The person said he seemed lost and scared.
Officers were called to the scene and found the child crying, cold and wrapped in a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle blanket.
He reportedly told officers that his father had told him to leave and he pointed to his house down the road.
When police knocked on the door, the father answered and said he was asleep.
The suspect was taken into custody and charged with child neglect.
The boy has been placed into the care of his mother.
