A man was arrested after allegedly setting fire to a home in order to get his roommate to move out.

According to an affidavit from Metro Nashville Police, Stephen Anderson has been accused of starting a fire inside the hallway of a Mallory Avenue residence.

The suspect allegedly poured gasoline at the entrance of a doorway and then used a cigarette lighter to ignite the blaze.

Three people were inside the home at the time.

Police said Anderson admitted to the crime, saying he wanted the victim out of the home.

Anderson also started a fire the day before but was able to extinguish the blaze before it got out of hand, the police report stated.

He's been charged with aggravated arson in the case.
