A Coffee County man was reportedly shot and killed after he and a suspect got into an argument over a dog.
According to investigators, 50-year-old David Lee Brooks was found dead on April 6 at a residence in Hillsboro, located about 8 miles southeast of Manchester.
Officers had been called to the scene on A Street shortly before 5 p.m. after reports of a possible homicide.
A suspect, identified as Vincent John Elliott Jr., was taken into custody.
Officials said he confessed to beating and shooting Brooks during an altercation over Elliott’s dog.
Elliott has been charged with 1st degree murder in the case.
