A man has been arrested after he allegedly tried to kidnap a 10-year-old girl from a moving vehicle.
According to an affidavit from Metro Nashville Police, officers were called to a scene on 2nd Avenue North.
A father and his daughter were turning onto 1st Avenue North from Gay Street when a man ran up to their car.
Police said Charles M. Drew ran up to the passenger side and tried to pull the girl out of the window.
The father apparently pulled her back to safety, sped away and called police.
Officers arrived on the scene and said the 44-year-old suspect was intoxicated. He reportedly had blood shot eyes and slurred speech.
Drew was arrested and charged with aggravated kidnapping, public intoxication and disorderly conduct. He was not eligible for bond at this time.
