The Nashville homeless population got a little help and encouragement courtesy of a local non-profit group.
The group "From Your Father" provided food and supplies for people who have been struggling to make ends meet.
The founder of the group said the "Prayer in the Park" event was an opportunity to provide support for people in need.
This was the first time the group has hosted this type of event at Centennial Park, and it was a great opportunity to give back.
I feel like this is a place where you can be free, we are all about that, we are no different,” said Deja Hagewood. “That these people and a lot of people are living paycheck to paycheck and could be one of these people one day.”
Hagewood has hoped to eventually expand the effort to other cities around the area.
