Singer Marion James, known as Nashville's "Queen of the Blues," has passed away.
Those close to James said she died Thursday.
NewsChannel 5 had the chance to catch up with James in September at a fundraiser for her organization that helps musicians in need.
She got her start inside the music clubs on Jefferson Street and landed a top-ten single: "That's My Man."
Marion James was 81 years old.
