A lockdown was lifted at a high school in Murfreesboro after a juvenile robbery suspect was taken into custody.

Those with Rutherford County Schools said Riverdale High School was placed on lockdown around 11:15 a.m. Wednesday.

The lockdown was only a precaution and lasted about 45 minutes.

Authorities said a suspect entered a gas station in the 1600 block of New Salem Highway around 11:08 a.m. Wednesday.

The masked juvenile displayed a gun and took cigarettes and an unknown amount of money before fleeing toward the Stones River.

Officials confirmed they searched in that area.

Homeowner Donna Summar lives just across the field from the area being combed by police and deputies.

She says her dog Shadow is the one who noticed something first.

"The dog was barking and by then I looked out the window and there's already two patrol cars out there and two police officers walking toward the woods," she said pointing to her backyard.

Her next door neighbor Jean Mayo says she's never seen anything like it.

"I looked in my dining room window and seen all the policemen out there and my grandson was cutting grass and the first thing I wondered was where is Adam," she said.

Her grandson turned out to be in the front yard, unharmed. Police told her to stay inside while they searched the brush.

"They told me to lock my doors," she said.

"They did get him in a web you can tell because two of them went this way and when the third car pulled up he just jumped out of the car left his car wide open and ran to the woods," Summar said, noting the third officer wore camo and carried a rifle.

The juvenile was captured, but details surrounding the person's arrest were unknown.

Authorities confirmed the juvenile was taken to the Rutherford County Juvenile Detention Center and was charged with aggravated robbery. The suspect's name was not being released.

No further details were given by officials.
