Police have been investigating after a suspect stole thousands of dollars from a local restaurant.
The incident happened Thursday morning at the Burger Up location in the 900 block of Woodland Street.
According to reports, the restaurant’s chef went in through the back door Thursday morning and then went to pick up a delivery. That’s when the delivery man told the chef the window in the front door of the restaurant was broken.

Authorities said a safe that had contained thousands of dollars was missing.
Police were on the scene investigating the case. No further details were available.
The restaurant's manager Brandon Ingle said the theft won't keep them from doing business.
"We won't let this slow us down. We've still gotten support from the community. We opened up for regular business hours as usual today and have added a few extra security measures," said Ingle.
This comes after a string of break-ins had been reported in the East Nashville area. Police have not said whether or not they believe they're connected.
