A new scam in Montgomery County has targeted people who have recently bonded out of jail.
Officials in Clarksville said they’ve received reports of scammers contacting people with pending criminal cases. These scammers have said they are bonding agents and have demanded money.
Authorities said victims should never send money until they follow up with additional information directly from their bonding company.
Anyone who has received a questionable call has been urged to file a report with law enforcement to help catch the scammers.
