Residents all over Middle Tennessee have been taking part in learning the art of beekeeping.
On Friday, some of those residents got to reap their reward.
The Heritage at Brentwood started harvesting two hives this year, and Friday they collected the first batch of honey.
Eddie Tomlinson and Cheryl Sanders said the residents have become fond of the hives and have been visiting them nearly every day.
In addition to the hives, Heritage has created a compost program.
