Another annual tradition had one unexpected group giving back to the less fortunate.
Thursday, officials with the Davidson County Sheriff's Office, as well as inmate work crews, packed and delivered hundreds of food boxes to people all across Music City.
It was all in partnership with NeedLink Nashville's 104th annual holiday food box delivery program.
The Sheriff's Office said they're glad to help out because community service is an integral part of their job.
"It's really at the core of our mission, is to make sure that our employees do give back to the community, and I think it's extremely important for people to see our warrant officers out on the street giving back and not just again showing up with a warrant and bad news," said Karla West, of the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office.
Altogether more than 46,000 pounds of food were packed up to be delivered to 750 people around Nashville.
