A big road construction project in Franklin appeared to have gotten a little more complicated than first thought thanks to a sinkhole.
The project has been widening Hillsboro Road in front of Franklin High School.
That first entrance to the school has now been blocked off, and it's blocking off the main entrance to the Williamson County Animal Center, as well.
Animal control said the 20-foot sinkhole at Claude Yates and Hillsboro Road showed up about a week ago, and with the road blocked off, that's kept people from coming in to adopt all the dogs and cats they have.
Now they're getting creative with the hope that $10 adoption fees will bring people in.
They said they’re open for adoptions Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.
