Smell Of Marijuana Leads To 2 Arrests

The smell of marijuana led a Mt. Juliet police officer to arrest two people.

According to officials, the officer was patroling the parking lot at the Providence Marketplace around 4 p.m. Sunday when he smelled marijuana coming from a parked car.

Inside the car the officer found fake drivers licenses from Texas, Oklahoma, Alabama, and California, along with several stolen credit cards, pills, and marijuana.

Dominique Holmes, age 29, of Georgia was inside the vehicle and was arrested.

During the investigation, it was discovered a second person was involved. Gregory Grant, age 26, also from Georgia, was found inside a nearby movie theater where he was trying to hide.

Holmes was charged with simple possession of a schedule VI drug (marijuana), simple possession of a schedule II drug (amphetamine and dextroamphetamine), unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, theft of property, and driving on a suspended drivers license.

Grant was facing charges of fraudulent use of a credit card, using false identification, and theft of property.
