A suspect wanted for stealing a truck shot himself when confronted by officials in Sumner County.
The incident happened around midday Monday at a home on Larkspur Court in White House.
According to reports, the man was wanted for allegedly stealing a truck out of Millersville.
Sumner County Sheriff’s deputies went to the home where the suspect had the stolen truck and a handgun.
When authorities tried to get into the home, the man fled through the kitchen door into the garage.
Officials saw him leave the garage and get into the stolen truck. They told him to get out of the vehicle, but he did not comply.
Reports stated the suspect then shot himself. He was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in critical condition. His current condition was unknown.
No other injuries were reported. The suspect’s identity was not released.
