Heavy flooding in Sumner County may be responsible for a woman's death, but her final cause of death has not yet been determined.
Sandra Lamberth had gone to her backyard in Portland to empty a vacuum cleaner bag before 5 p.m. Saturday, and she never returned.
The 55-year-old was gone for about ten minutes when her family noticed she was missing and went to look for her.
Her body was eventually found in West Fork Drakes Creek.
The cause of death has not been determined, but police believe it was accidental.
The riverbank where she had been standing may have given way as a result of heavy flooding in the area Friday.
An autopsy has been set to make sure foul play wasn’t involved.
