Suspect Accused Of Stealing Lottery Tickets

Posted

A suspect has been arrested after allegedly stealing hundreds of dollars in lottery tickets.

An affidavit from Metro Nashville Police said Trenton Hartman has been charged with theft of property after he stole $280 worth of lottery tickets.

Hartman allegedly stole Millionaire Jumbo Bucks tickets, costing $20 each.

Police said Hartman tried to cash one of the stolen winning tickets but was denied.

His friend, on the other hand, went to the Nashville Prize Validation Office and was issued a check for $2500 for the winning ticket.

Apparently the tickets were reported stolen to Metro Police, but weren't reported to the lottery in time before the ticket was cashed.

After reviewing store surveillance video and calling the Tennessee Lottery, police determined Hartman was a suspect.

He was the only one arrested and was booked into the Metro jail.
