A suspect was struck by a patrol car during a foot chase in Hermitage. He was not seriously injured.
The incident happened around 4:30 a.m. Wednesday in the 4000 block of Lebanon Pike.
Officials with Metro Nashville Police said officers were working an investigation at the Hermitage Inn when the pursuit started.
They had asked to see Odos Ray Ladd Jr.'s ID but he said he did not have one. He gave them a social security number but it did not come back as his name.
Police said at that time he took off on foot.
They were trying to corral the suspect when he allegedly ran in front of the patrol car. He was struck and flung into a ditch. He was not seriously hurt.
Officers were given permission to search a vehicle and found a plastic baggie with a crystal substance that was field tested positive as methamphetamine.
Ladd was charged with resisting arrest, evading arrest and possession or casual exchange of meth.
