A man has turned himself in to the Wilson County Jail after warrants were obtained for his arrest earlier in November.

Officials said 40-year-old Christopher Boling turned himself in around 6 p.m. Tuesday.

According to authorities, investigators followed up on a tip of methamphetamine in an apartment where they discovered illegal drugs and a female who had been seriously assaulted.

Members of Mt. Juliet’s Crime Suppression Unit initially made the discovery after knocking on the door of an apartment in the 600 block of Aventura Drive just before 9 p.m. November 5. A search warrant was obtained and executed.

Investigators discovered multiple needles and syringes, baggies containing around 1.4 grams of meth, one baggy of pills, a plastic container of approximately 94 grams of marijuana, and other drug paraphernalia.

Boling, the resident at the apartment, was not at home at the time the search warrant was executed.

The female inside the apartment told authorities Boling had strangled her that morning. Investigators noticed bruising on her neck.

Boling has been charged with aggravated assault, possession of methamphetamine, simple possession of a schedule II drug, simple possession of a schedule IV drug, simple possession of a schedule VI drug, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Officials said Boling was also on supervised federal probation out of North Carolina.
