Friendly competition was the name of the game at Nashville Tabletop Day.
The event at the Nashville Public Library was a celebration of board games. It was held in conjunction with International Tabletop Day which started six years ago.
Similar events have now been held in 160 countries. Organizers said it’s an opportunity to get together with friends and play their favorite games.
“One of the beautiful things about Tabletop Day and board gaming is you have to be there with your friends and strangers, and it’s an amazing thing to look at these pieces and cars and position on the board,” said Andy Matthews, the host of the event. “If you win or lose, it will be a fun time.”
The event was scheduled to end at 10 p.m. Saturday. Around 400 people were expected to participate throughout the day.
