A thief tried multiple times to break into a Nashville Mac store overnight, causing several thousand dollars worth of damage.

The incident was reported around 1:30 a.m. Friday at the Simply Mac store on Lindell Avenue.

Someone tried to smash into at least four windows at the business. Shattered glass could be seen scattered along the ground.

Josh Baker, the store's regional director, said the strength of the hurricane glass was able to keep the thief out.

However, he estimated the damage to be around $10,000. Baker said this type of crime happens at the store about every six months.

There were surveillance cameras outside the store. The business would be ready to open at 9 a.m.

Anyone with information should call Crime Stoppers at 615-74-CRIME.
