When severe storms moved through, a first responder in Giles County rushed in to save a woman and her children.
Tennessee Highway Patrol Sergeant Jeff Reed rushed to a flooded area Thursday after getting reports that vehicles were stranded along a stretch of Highway 31.
According to reports, the sergeant waded through four feet of water and pulled a baby, a young boy, and their mother out of one of the cars.
Trooper Reed said he was "just doing his job and trying to help them."
“This was an outstanding job, there is no doubt that Sergeant Reed saved lives last night! I’m very proud of his actions and his reaction to duty before self," said Colonel Tracy Trott. "He is a tremendous representation of our department and I am very proud to serve with him.”
