A witness alerted police in Idaho of a possible Carlie Trent and Gary Simpson sighting at an area restaurant, but officials later found that it was not a match to the missing pair.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation maintains there has been no confirmed sighting of Carlie, Simpson or the van at this time.

Officials with the Mountain Home Police Department – in Mountain Home, Idaho – confirmed they received a call from a Special Agent from the TBI around 1:30 a.m. Tuesday about a possible sighting.
Yet, the tip was confirmed to be false Tuesday night. Police pulled surveillance video, and were able to determine it was not Simpson's Dodge van.
The tip came from an employee with the Jade Palace Restaurant said she saw a white van with Tennessee plates come through the drive-through window at 9:30 Monday night.
The witness said she believes that the physical description of the van, suspect, and missing child matched that of the issued Amber Alert.
Mountain Home police said they can’t confirm the sighting other than what the witness has stated.
The TBI has received more than 600 tips since the Amber Alert was issued last Thursday, and none have yet to be confirmed.
Carlie is 4'8" tall, weighs 75 lbs with blonde hair and blue eyes. She was last seen wearing a black and gray tank top shirt with blue jeans.
Simpson is 57 years old, 5'10" tall, weighing 157 lbs. He is balding and has brown hair and eyes.
He was last seen driving a white 2002 Dodge Conversion Van with TN registration 173GPS. The van has a dark stripe down the middle with light gold running boards and paint is chipping off of the hood.
Warrants have been issued for Simpson for kidnapping.

Mountain Home Police received a call from a Special Agent from the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation around 1:30 this morning of a possible sighting from the Amber Alert that was placed on 9-year-old Carlie Trent. Officers made contact with an employee at the Jade Palace Restaurant. She observed a white van with Tennessee plates come through the drive-through window at 9:30 last night. The witness stated that she believes that the physical description of the van, suspect, and missing child matched what was provided by this Amber Alert.
Our investigators are continuing their efforts to obtain confirmation that this sighting is accurate by interviewing witnesses and reviewing surveillance video by local businesses around the city during this time frame. As of this moment, our department cannot confirm the sighting in our city other than what our witness has stated. We understand that time is of the essence to locate this missing child and we will continue to exhaust all resources to assist in doing so. In the meantime, we are urging the public to remain vigilant, and alert law enforcement immediately if they see or have seen the child, the suspect, or the van involved in this incident.
