A man has been arrested after a student at Tennessee State University was attacked inside a dorm room.
According to an affidavit from Metro Nashville Police, several male suspects entered a dorm room and started pistol-whipping the occupants.
The incident happened at Watson Residence Hall, located on Almada Street on TSU's campus.
When officers arrived on the scene, three students were in the lobby, one of whom was suffering from injuries after being pistol-whipped.
The three students in the dorm identified the alleged perpetrator as Griffin Cole.
They told police that he entered their dorm with several other suspects, said "don't move" and started hitting them with a handgun.
The victims told police they were able to wrestle away the gun during the altercation.
At that time, Cole allegedly left the dorm room. The students went downstairs and reported what happened.
The victim turned in the weapon to the front desk and police took it as evidence.
Cole was arrested for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
