The Tulsa shooting hit close to home for students at one Nashville school.
Students at Nashville's KIPP College Prep School said they feel very close to the situation in Tulsa, despite being 600 miles away.
Terence Crutcher, who was shot and killed in Oklahoma last Friday, left behind a 6th grade student at a fellow KIPP School in Tulsa.
"We have a lot of students asking questions," said Randy Dowell, Executive Director at KIPP Nashville. "How safe am I? How safe is my dad? How safe are my brothers? How safe are my cousins?"
Students at KIPP in Nashville wore all black Friday and gathered on the school's front lawn to ready poetry, sing songs, hold a moment of silence, and have a balloon release.
Dowell said it was only one small gesture in part of a larger conversation.
