Turnip Truck Changes Locations In East Nashville

Posted

A longtime East Nashville grocery store has changed its address.

Saturday, the ribbon was cut on Turnip Truck's new location on Woodland Street.

Owner John Dyke first opened the store in East Nashville just a few blocks down some 15 years ago to cater to his neighbors' needs of fresh, natural, locally grown groceries.

He has now been hoping the new, expanded store will attract more customers in the urban core of Nashville.

The new location is four times the size of the original and boasts several new amenities, like a hot food bar, a salad bar, and an upper-level dining area.

“I think with so many people moving here and new housing going in that there is just a need for more places to shop, and to shop for organic food, as well,” said cashier Tony Teal.

The official grand opening celebration has been scheduled for some time in January.

The Turnip Truck also has another location in The Gulch.
