Nearly two weeks after his conviction on multiple counts of rape, Brandon Vandenburg has been added to the Tennessee Sex Offender Registry.
Vandenburg was convicted of rape for a second time back on June 18. A jury found him guilty of five counts of aggravated rape, two counts of aggravated sexual battery, and one count of unlawful photography.
The guilty verdict came after six days of grueling, graphic, and emotional testimony - most centering around the early morning hours of June 23, 2013, the day an unconscious female student from the dance team was sexually assaulted inside of Gillette Hall on Vanderbilt campus.
In April, Vandenburg's former teammate, Cory Batey, was also convicted of rape in the case. Both face up to 25 years in prison.
Batey was scheduled to be sentenced on July 15, with Vandenburg's sentencing tentatively set for July.
They will serve their time and eventually be released, likely in their 40s; however, both will remain on the sex offender registry.
