A man said he was trying to be a good Samaritan when he instead got hit by a car.
Police arrested the driver, Jeffrey Wayne Fitzgerald, saying he hit the victim intentionally.
According to the police report, the victim was walking down 9th Avenue North towards Jefferson street Friday when he saw what he thought was a broken down car.
According to him, he asked Fitzgerald if he was okay or needed help.
That's when the victim said Fitzgerald started swearing at him and came at him with clenched fists.
The two scuffled and then the victim started walking away.
That's when he said Fitzgerald got back in the car, drove up on the sidewalk, and hit him intentionally.
There was no word released on how badly the victim was hurt.
