People in Rutherford County got the opportunity to take a tour of the Adult Detention Center.
Visitors on Sunday were invited to walk inside an empty cell, tour the kitchen, and view the towers where correctional deputies monitor the inmates.
Sheriff Robert Arnold said he wanted people to see first-hand how the jail works.
“I take deep pride in my jail,” Sheriff Arnold said. “Unfortunately, we've had some incidents happen in the last year, and that's one thing we want people to come back and talk to us to show we have a very safe jail.”
Sunday's open house kicked off National Correctional Officers Week.
