Hundreds gathered to deliver food and personal items to every family living in the J.C. Napier community.
On Saturday, all of the 378 families living in the neighborhood received two boxes: one with non-perishable food and another with personal items. This was all part of the non-profit group, Elijah's Heart.

“These are our families, and we love them in Jesus’ name,” organizer Joe Bradford said the crowd.
The volunteers met in a parking lot off Claiborne Street to unload the hundreds of boxes from trucks. They then divided up into teams and knocked on every single door in the community.

Even though the items were simple, the actions of the volunteers appeared to have a lasting effect on the families.
“Man, thank y'all. God bless y'all. Y'all make the days bright,” one man said.
Tetra Cierpke was among the volunteers. She has done a lot of work with the Napier community, but Saturday was a special one for her.
“I can see on their face that they're incredibly happy to receive a little bit of what we have to offer,” she said.
Bradford’s organization is a part of a lot of volunteer events throughout the Nashville community. For more on getting involved, click here.
