Westmoreland Police confirmed they captured a man whom they were considering armed and dangerous.

The department initially issued the alert on its Facebook page early Friday morning.

Authorities said they had been looking for Chad Sharp, who fled a call scene on foot.

Police said they went to the home where the incident happened around 9 a.m. and spoke to the victim.

When she said she had not heard from Sharp, authorities asked her permission to search the home. The victim complied.

That's when officials found Sharp hiding in a closet and took him into custody.

He was being held in the Sumner County Jail. Sharp has been scheduled to appear in court for aggravated domestic assault on September 7.
