Every year, young drivers have fallen victim to distracted driving, and it has often turned deadly.
Williamson County officials have been making it their mission to put a stop to it.
Williamson County Schools has teamed up with the Sheriff's Office to help make new drivers aware of the risks of distracted driving.
Resource officers created videos for the ten high schools in the county. School officials said a number of deaths in recent years caused by distracted driving among new drivers has been part of the reason for the new campaign.
Those with the schools said there’s nothing harder than having to go to a funeral or talk to a family after a student, a loved one, has passed away.
The videos will be presented to students in the coming weeks.
