A woman suffered life-threatening injuries overnight when she crashed her vehicle into a pole in south Nashville.
The collision happened around 2 a.m. Tuesday in the 600 block of Bell Road.
Officials with Metro Nashville Police said the woman somehow veered off the road and struck a pole.
Another driver happened upon the scene and called 911.
The victim had to be extricated from the vehicle and was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
Her name was not known.
It’s not yet clear what caused the crash.
The wreck shut down Bell Road for several hours while officials remained on the scene. The road has since reopened.
