A woman was killed over the weekend in a motorcycle crash on Natchez Trace Parkway in Maury County.
The incident happened just before 1:30 p.m. Saturday at milepost 410, not far from the Duck River.
Officials with the National Park Service said 54-year-old Phillip Cothern and his 56-year-old wife, Cynthia – both of Cedar Hill - were riding their motorcycle on northbound Natchez Trace Parkway.
At some point, the motorcycle left the roadway and struck a tree.
Cynthia Cothern was fatally injured in the crash. Phillip Cothern was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where his condition was unknown.
The cause of the crash was under investigation.
