An investigation was launched after a woman reported being sexually assaulted at Austin Peay State University. This was the second reported assault at the school in less than a week.

An alert was posted on the school’s website, saying the alleged incident happened at 10:30 p.m. Tuesday.

The woman told campus police she was walking towards the library when an unknown male came up behind her and touched her inappropriately.

The suspect ran towards the bookstore after the alleged incident.

He was described as being an African American male, around 5-feet tall and weighs 180 pounds. Officials said he was wearing a gray jacket with red sweatpants and a gray hat with a red brim.

This was the second reported assault at the university in less than a week.

On March 31, another female told university officials that a man grabbed her from behind at Browning near College Street. She was able to fight off her attacker, but was injured in the struggle.

Campus police were investigating. Anyone with information should call 931-221-7786.
