A kayaker was rescued after getting stuck in the middle of the East Fork of the Stones River.
Authorities said they responded to the incident around 12:30 p.m. Saturday at the Walter Hill Dam in the 500 block of Lebanon Pike.
A woman was stuck in the fork while kayaking just 100 feet from the dam when her kayak capsized.
Officials with the Murfreesboro Fire & Rescue Department, Murfreesboro Police Department, and Rutherford County Special Operations Rescue Team rescued the woman after she was swept away in a current and caught in thigh-deep water in a section of trees and limbs.
Crews waded through the water to reach the victim.
Authorities said she was taken to Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital, but she did not appear to be injured.
