As shoppers flocked to stores with the best deals on Black Friday, local businesses prepared their shops for Small Business Saturday, which takes place the day after Black Friday.
Small Business Saturday is a day where people are encouraged to shop at local businesses, spending money in the local community that will stay in the local community.
"when you spend your money at a small business, a local business, a lot more of that money stays in the local economy," Doyle Davis, co-owner and vinylist at Grimey's, said.
Grimey's and other independent record stores work with Record Store Day organizers to have special releases that you can only buy at independent record stores on Black Friday and Small Business Saturday in hopes of bringing in people who may otherwise skip the record stores for bigger "box" stores.
