A two-story home in the Madison area has been destroyed by fire.
Crews with the Nashville Fire Department responded to the home at 2192 Freeman Lane Monday morning.
Witnesses on the scene reported seeing flames shoot through the roof. Smoke could be seen from several miles away.
Most of the roof was either burned or caved in on the second floor. Officials said the home was a total loss. The cause of the fire was under investigation.
The home was estimated at a value of over $240,000.
It was not clear if there was anyone home at the time of the blaze.
